Prenatal & Postpartum Massage
Going through pregnancy is a wonderful part of life but it comes with its aches and pains. Women during their pregnancies are beautiful and strong.
A pregnancy massage is approximately 45-60 minutes long. The mother’s body must be properly positioned and supported during the massage, using pillows and padding. Proper positioning ensures comfort and safety for the mother and baby. Lying on your side is often the most comfortable position.
The benefit of having a massage during pregnancy is to decrease the stress and tension in the shoulder, back and leg pain. The massage also helps to lower anxiety which decreases the “stress” hormone norepinephrine and will help improve sleep. Pregnancy massage also helps with concentration, focus and uplifting the mood.
Postpartum massage can help with restore the body to its pre-pregnant condition. The massage helps lowers the stress of carrying and caring for a newborn. The recovery can be sped up by bringing relief of sore muscles and helping the mother to relax more easily.
